July 2026 Webmasters Forum: Certificate Changes and Keeping Your Sites Secure

We'll spend the hour focusing on two topics that are particularly relevant for technical teams managing web infrastructure and applications.

First, Dave Packham, Director of Identity & Access Management (IAM),  will discuss the university's transition from Sectigo Certificate Manager to CertiNext, including important dates, domain validation requirements, certificate automation, and what shorter certificate lifecycles mean for your environment. 

Next, Dustin Udy, Associate Director of Security Assurance, will cover web security and vulnerability management, including tools available to scan web applications and host operating systems for vulnerabilities and reduce security risks.

This session will focus on:

  • The Sectigo-to-CertiNext certificate migration
  • Domain validation and ACME-based automation
  • Managing shorter certificate lifecycles
  • Web application and server security
  • Vulnerability scanning tools available through ISO
