The University provides a variety of hosting options for websites. For information on hosting and managing websites in a Content Management System (CMS) with one of the three main CMS providers on campus, please see below. For a more do-it-yourself approach, UIT provides web site platforms (LAMP Stack) for hosting university-related web sites.

  • If you see a “LAST UPDATED” link in the dark gray footer of your site, it’s administered by UIT.
  • No "LAST UPDATED" link? It might be a UMC site.

University Information Technology - Modern Campus CMS (formerly Omni CMS)

Web hosting for our clients is provided by the UIT Platform Services team on secure servers in the downtown data center. Modern Campus CMS is hosted “in the cloud”, which means the infrastructure and processing needs on our end to host and run the sites are very minimal. This makes our sites extremely fast, reliable and secure.

University Marketing & Communications - WordPress

UMC Digital offers a managed enterprise cloud hosting solution. Born out of the need for emergency and crisis communication, sites built and hosted by UMC Digital are built on our managed AWS cloud environment. This makes sites fast, secure, scalable and exempt from local server outages. We also manage site security and updates for all UMC-hosted properties. All new sites built by UMC are hosted on this platform.

U of U Health - Acquia

  • Webhosting will eventually all be In the cloud with Acquia hosted services as we complete migration to drupal/acquia.
  • Currently some sites are hosted on our local environment supported by ITS.
  • In order for a site to be hosted it must be built in our content management system.
    • Keeping sites connected to a centralized system ensures integration across U of U Health and continued enhancements to a single design system and fall back management should the need arise.
  • All U of U Health websites should be built in either Acquia/Drupal or Cascade Server.
  • Contact the U of U Health Web Team if you have a new site request.
