Usability Research

Say you're looking to make some improvements to your website. Or maybe you've already made some. How do you know for sure what your users want from your site or how they interact with it? How do you know if your improvements were effective? That's where usability research comes in.

By working with the actual users of your website, you can gain valuable insight into what's working well and what needs to improve.

Select the group that administers your website to learn specifics about your management platform.

  • If you see a “LAST UPDATED” link in the dark gray footer of your site, it’s administered by UIT.
  • No "LAST UPDATED" link? It might be a UMC site.

The UIT web team utilizes many different methods for user research. Focus groups, 1-on-1 interviews, and task-based tests help us understand your users and how they think about the content on your site. Tree testing, card sorting, and first-click testing help us see how users expect to move through your site. By working with the actual users of your website, we gain valuable insight into what's working well and what needs to improve. Learn more about our usability services.
